Water Heater Installation in Sacramento

Having No Hot Water a Sign You Might Need a New Water Heater

A customer reported that there was no hot water in her home. When we arrived, we determined that the customer would be much better off if she had a new water heater installed. The unit she had in her home was 15 years old and showing signs of extensive wear. She agreed, we put in the new unit, and she once again had a steady flow of hot water.

There are several signs that a water heater will typically provide before it fails completely:

  1. Age: If yours is between 15 and 20 years old, it’s nearing the end of it’s usable life and it’s probably time to consider replacement.
  2. Odd sounds: If you hear a knocking or clanging noise, that means sediment has accumulated inside the tank. This problem will more than likely worsen to the point that you no longer have hot water.
  3. Leak: If you ever notice any sort of leaking, that is a sign you need to have your model replaced immediately. Unfortunately, there is no repair work that can be done to fix a leaking water heater.

Having no hot water is a major inconvenience, and in case your water heater decides to abruptly stop working, we’re here for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call Boyd Plumbing today for your water heater repair and replacement needs!
